Distributed Audio & Video

Serving: North Idaho & Spokane Washington Areas

Distributed audio and video (sometimes known as whole house audio video) is a method of spreading audio and video across a home or facility from a single source point. Although the technology to do so has existed for some time, customers have just lately gained access to such a wide range of options and control.

We can now distribute your complete audio collection as well as your whole movie collection via Internet radio, iTunes, Hulu, or Roku. Media Controlled can distribute source content to virtually any room in your home with a set of speakers (audio) or a television (video) (video). This audio or video may be managed with a keypad, remote control, tabletop display, or simply a single app on your phone, thanks to today’s switchers, amplifiers, and control systems.

Distributed Audio

This is an improvement above background music. You want to pick your own music, yet listening is usually done in the background while doing other things. That is, you listen to music while doing other things—reading, entertaining, whatever—with the exception of turning it up loudly for a party or dancing.

I

Distributed Video

In the same way that distributed audio may come from a single source point, distributed video can. Because we’re talking about the video here, it’s obvious that it’s different: television, DVD, high definition, standard definition, and so on. Although the technology for video distribution differs slightly, the same equipment may be used to handle both.

How it Works

At first glance, a media distribution system appears to be all about wire. You may position your sources as far away as you like as long as you have a long enough cable, and just run the wires behind your walls to get the signal to its destination. That isn’t how it works in reality.

The following components make up your entire home audio video system: a multi-channel matrix switch, cables, power amplifiers, speakers, televisions, sources, and controllers (touchpad, tablet or smartphone). All of these things work together to guarantee that your signal reaches its destination in good shape and that your information is easily accessible.

In the end, a whole-house audio visual system is similar to a complicated game of telephone. All of your sources are connected to a matrix switch, which may relay the signal to several places. The signal is then amplified by connecting the matrix switch to a power amplifier. The first half of the equation is housed in its own AV rack. The signal is then amplified and distributed throughout the home through specialised connections to speakers and televisions. The next step is to programme your sources so that they can be accessible from a single control device, whether it’s a one-room remote or a full smart home automation user interface.
